The Basics of Plans & Risk Assessment
“The Basics of Plans & Risk Assessment” provides learners with an overview of the basics of business continuity, including a review of key terms and concepts. This exciting one hour module includes a look at the basic principles of risk assessment and how business continuity plans can be implemented to offset these risks. Learners will also review a case study and look at the implications for these concepts in the real world. CEU credit is available for this module through the UofM School of Public Health Centers for Public Health Outreach & Education.
At the conclusion of this module, learners will be able to:
Describe the importance of business emergency and disaster response planning (the process and the actual plans) as a means to help with continuity and survival after a major event.
Describe the seven primary steps of formulating a plan.

“Preparing Employees for a Disaster in the Workplace” features several interviews with field experts from public health, large international businesses, non-profit organizations, media relations, and small independently owned businesses. During these interviews, experts explain ways to prepare your workplace for a disaster and ensure the safety and security of employees and their jobs. This one hour module is an engaging and poignant look at how disasters and emergencies affect not only “business as usual,” but also the lives and well-being of employees.
